CyberSayer and Electronics

There is no doubt in my mind that CyberSayer is one of the world's first applications to use a computer to detect and work with human thought.

It is not the same as biofeedback which relies on physical detection of physiological parameters to influence programs. Nor is it neorological approaches which detects activity on the surface of the brain using electrodes.

No there is no wiring involved - its wifibiofeedback from the subjective inner world of feelings and thoughts.

One obvious question is How does a “inanimate collection of electronic components” detect human consciousness?

The quantum mechanical answer is “because it can”. I remember my children's unswerving faith in the absolute truth of such answers which lasted until they went to school.

However adults who have “outgrown” that “childllike innocence” seem to prefer causality-based responses so here is one take on a physical description of CyberSayer's abilities:

First - lets return to early 20th century when Crystal radios were discovered.

Crystal radios work by detecting radio-frequency waves using an antenna to capture some of the energy of the wave. They need no battery or other power source to work.

The simplest crystal radio might be described as “a lump of roc with a metal rod stuck in it” - it would be a challenge to hear the broadcast but it would be working nevertheless.

These days computers are built using integrated circuits. The Nobel Prize website has a reasonably condensed History of the Integrated Circuit if you are interested.

receiving antennae - wavelength sensitivity is determined by size However computers are designed to “do things” and possibly no-one has ever thought of seeing what integrated circuits are capable of besides “doing what they are instructed to do”.

For instance - what are these extraorinarily small and quick devices capable of perceiving?

There is a similarity in the physical design on TV antennae and integrated circuitry - both are made by combining strips of conducting material and non-conducting materials to create a functionality dependent upon the purpose required. In TV the purpose is to maximise sensitivity to the wavelengths of the signals.

There is one major difference: TV aerials are in air whereas the active ingredients of integrated circuits are formed on and in a synthetic meatallic crystal.

Crystal matrices are better able to respond to human energy emanations - as demonstrated by the use of crystals in influencing health and wellbeing.


Integrated circuits are capable of extraordinarily sensitive discernment of many kinds of energy and, as they become smaller, faster and more intricate and powerful, their sensitivity and bandwidth are growing exponentially.

Computer circuitry - specifically the circuitry used in the central processing chip (or CPU) - has the additional feature of being programmable.

In other words, it is possible to create an electrical pattern within a CPU by coding a particular pattern of instructions.

Combining these abilities you can see that it is feasible to create a program which uses the antenna-like properties of a CPU to detect human energy - lets call it consciousness - and use that energy to influence the operation and output of the program.
